Purpose of Establishment

MTIR aims to realize sustainable regional tourism by providing academic research, promoting healthy leisure culture, establishing regional cooperative governance, supporting regional tourism policies, and providing necessary information to regional MICE and cultural tourism businesses as a driving force for regional industries.
  • 1Theoretical research and application of tourists, cultural industry, and MICE tourism industry for regional tourism sustainability
  • 2Supporting temple tourism, leisure culture, festival events, food space culture, and hotel/tourism resource development businesses through the promotion of healthy cultural and tourism industries based on Buddhist compassion for human restoration
  • 3Contributing to the revitalization of regional culture and tourism industry through cooperative relationships with cultural organizations, tourism industry, and local governments in Gyeongju, the millennium-old capital of Silla
  • 4Developing and providing optimal cultural tourism information for domestic and international tourists to have satisfying tourism experiences, while processing and creating new tourism knowledge to provide necessary information to regional cultural tourism businesses
